Ndere Cultural Center
The Ndere Troupe is a cultural development that was founded in 1984 by Rwangyezi Stephen.
For an immersive dive into Uganda’s vibrant culture, Ndere Cultural Center is the place to be. Here, traditional music and dance come alive in breathtaking performances that celebrate the country’s rich heritage. As you relax and enjoy a delicious meal, the rhythmic beats and graceful movements transport you into the heart of Uganda’s diverse traditions.
The performances are captivating, with talented dancers and musicians bringing stories to life. Witness the Karimojong courtship dance—a bold and dramatic display that leaves audiences in awe. The mesmerizing Kadodi dance follows, with dancers twisting and bending effortlessly, while the high-energy Larakaraka dance keeps spectators on the edge of their seats. Every step tells a story of passion and tradition.
Set in a stunning 700-seat amphitheater, the experience begins at 6:00 pm on Sundays and 7:00 pm on Wednesdays. Fridays feature a special Afro-Jazz night from 7:00 pm until late, where soulful African rhythms fill the air.
A highlight of the evening is the famous buffet, featuring a variety of mouth-watering Ugandan dishes. Enjoy tender steamed chicken, flavorful groundnut stew, and hearty mushroom soup, each dish steeped in history and tradition.
Adding to the experience, CEO Stephen Rwangyenzi delivers humorous storytelling, offering a lighthearted take on Uganda’s past. His witty anecdotes keep the audience engaged and entertained.
The night ends on a high note as guests are invited to join the performance—whether dancing, singing, or trying traditional instruments. It’s a moment of pure joy, where culture and connection come together in a truly unforgettable experience.
