Flame Tree Stables
Flametree Stables is a hidden gem that every horse lover must experience at least once. Owned and operated by the passionate Miranda Bowser, this haven offers a unique blend of serenity and excitement, capturing the very essence of what it means to be close to horses. Whether you’re captivated by the gentle art of petting these majestic creatures or the thrill of riding them, Flametree Stables ranks as one of the top three equestrian destinations in the country.
Miranda, an accomplished horsewoman, brought her expertise and love for horses to Uganda over 20 years ago. Upon arriving, she quickly recognized the gap in the country’s equestrian scene and the lack of accessible opportunities for people to experience the joy and fulfillment that comes with horses. Driven by her passion, she created Flametree Stables—a sanctuary where horses and humans connect in harmony. Managing horses and teaching the art of riding may seem daunting to many, but for an experienced equestrian like Miranda, it’s a rewarding challenge.
Nestled in the tranquil countryside near Gayaza, Flametree Stables occupies a sprawling 20-acre woodland, where the gentle rustle of leaves and the chirping of birds create a peaceful backdrop to the equestrian experience. The property is a beautiful sanctuary, teeming with a variety of local flora and fauna. True to its name, the stables are adorned with stunning flame trees that burst into vibrant hues, adding an enchanting touch to the landscape.
The stables’ instructors are incredibly welcoming, patient, and dedicated—qualities that are especially important when guiding first-time riders through the sometimes daunting but always exhilarating world of horseback riding. At Flametree Stables, life takes on a simpler, more joyful rhythm, especially when you’re in the presence of such noble creatures. Whether you’re taking your first ride or honing your skills, the connection you form with a horse here feels truly special.
