Farm to cup coffee experience
Uganda ranks among the top five countries in coffee production and export, making a farm-to-cup coffee experience a must during your visit. At our small yet rich farm, where Arabica and Robusta coffee thrive, you’ll embark on an immersive journey through the coffee-growing process.
Led by Mr. Kiwanuka, a 70-year-old experienced farmer, you’ll explore every stage, from planting and nurturing to harvesting. Learn how factors like altitude and climate influence flavor profiles. Depending on the season, you may even have the chance to pick coffee cherries directly from the trees, experiencing the labor behind harvesting the perfect beans.
After picking, you’ll witness the processing of the beans using methods like washed, natural, or honey processes. Mr. Kiwanuka will explain how drying, hulling, and sorting affect flavor and quality.
Next, enjoy a roasting demonstration where you’ll learn how green beans are transformed into the perfect roast. The guide will cover key aspects like temperature, timing, and how different roasts impact taste.
At the end of the tour, savor freshly brewed coffee from the beans you’ve seen grown, with a cupping session to identify subtle notes and flavors like a professional. You’ll also enjoy a hands-on barista session with Tony, learning to brew coffee using methods like pour-over, French press, or espresso.
To complete your experience, purchase freshly roasted coffee beans or related products to take home.
